COLD DAYS AT THE BEACH

It's been 10 months since my last camping trip to the beach.  It was very cold but I enjoyed myself anyway.  The doggies loved seeing the beach again and wanted to stay outside and refused to get into the camper at times.

Had some problems with my furnace the first night so called my friend Pat who lives on the island to bring me an electric space heater.  Was comfortable after that.

Even though it was cold the sun felt so nice and warm.

I call this "Pearly Water" and can capture these photos at noon time.

Fishing boat on pearly water.

At the pavilion.

Tired after play time on the beach.

Watching other little doggies outside.

Someone dropped off this poor cat at the park.  I put some dog food on the picnic table and it came back and ate some.  It would not let me get close to it.
Later in the day it walked right into camp and relaxed.  I was sitting in my chair just a few feet from where it was.

It has short folded ears.

The Scottish Fold is a breed of domestic cat with a natural dominant-gene mutation that affects cartilage throughout the body, causing the ears to "fold,” bending forward and down towards the front of the head, which gives the cat what is often described as an "owl-like" appearance.

OUT TO A CAR SHOW

Packed up the dogs in the RV and headed to Thibodauxville.  It's a huge event and I enjoy their arts and craft booths as well as their car show.  I met up with my friend Pat and his girlfriend Elaine.  Pat had entered his antique Thunderbird and won a plaque for first 100.  Last year he won a trophy.

The dogs loved all the attention they got from people walking by.  Some even asked if they could take photos of them.  I let them walk around a grassy area but kept them in their stroller most of the time.

Of course I had to check out all the bikes and liked this particular paint job.

It was so nice to get out on this beautiful day and get some sunshine.  I felt stronger than I had been the last few days.  Really glad I went.

Love this color.

This is another one of Pat's antique cars - a Cadillac.

A SUMMER'S DAY IN FEBRUARY - AT THE BEACH

Back to the Grand Isle State Park for a couple of days.

Xi Shi went straight for the water.

Xi Shi with a big smile on her face.  She loves the beach.

Cha Bu off leash and doing a good job of following my commands to stay close.

Back into the water for Xi Shi.  Cha Bu not as eager to join in.

So many smells... so little time.

Exhausted after their play time on the beach.

Cha Bu using her big sister as a pillow on our way back home.

LAKE END PARK - MORGAN CITY - LA.

Loaded up the dogs and packed some food in the RV and away we went this afternoon.  I had made reservations online and put it on my credit card.  The total was $40.00 for two nights - according to the website.

When I checked in at the office I was told the total would be $76.00 which included my Good Sam discount.  So instead of charging me $20 a night they charged me $40 a night.  The person informed me that the $20 a night rate does not start till April.  Of course I asked why the website did not reflect that information.  No explanation was given me.  I asked to cancel and they said it was too late to cancel.  I paid the balance and went to my site.   I can not afford to pay $40 a night and would not have made the reservation if that was what the website showed.  Lesson learned.  I won't be back.

OUR ENJOYABLE THREE DAYS AT THE BEACH

Our second day at the beach and we stayed out all day long.  Only went back to the RV for lunch then we were out again.

Enjoying the pavilion.

My friend Pat came over in the late afternoon and brought me some fresh trout.  The dogs love him and always give him lots of attention.  However, they were exhausted from their busy day outside and fell asleep next to him on the bed.
Xi Shi just couldn't go any more and out she went.

Got a little rain this morning so we stayed inside.  Had breakfast then a quick ride around the park.  Packed up then headed for home.

We all enjoyed our short visit to the beach.

EXERCISING AT THE BEACH

Felt good to ride my bike once again.  It's been 9 months since I've been to this beach and ridden my bike.  Feeling a bit sore tonight.  All this exercising is finally giving my muscles a work out.

The beach is showing signs of all the thunder storms we had lately.  Lots of debris and beach erosion.  Was a bit tricky trying to pull the doggie cart but I managed to ride for several hours today.

Never seen this washed up on the beach before.

And of course we spent lots of time on the fishing pier.  The dogs love it here because they can be off leash and run around and be safe.  Lots of wind and no mosquitos.

The weather was great with temps in the 60s and we enjoyed sitting outside.
